2014 Ekklesia logo

Phi Gamma Delta's biennial convention, the Ekklesia, is held in the summer of even-numbered years. In this governing body, each undergraduate chapter has up to three voting delegates. Each graduate chapter may have one voting delegate. The primary business of the Ekklesia is to elect new Archons (board of directors), approve the budget for the ensuing biennium, and amend the Bylaws and Constitution. Outside of the business conducted by the Ekklesia, there are educational programs and social activities to allow brothers to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.

Phi Gamma Delta's  172nd Ekklesia will be held August 6-9, 2020 in Phoenix, AZ. Attendee details and registration information is below.

Important Notice Regarding 172nd Ekklesia & COVID-19

The health & safety of Phi Gamma Delta’s members and guests, as well as those with whom they interact, is the Fraternity’s top priority. As planning continues for the upcoming 172nd Ekklesia in Phoenix, AZ, questions have arisen related to the coronavirus’ impact on the event. Below are several frequently asked questions. If your question is not answered below, please contact Todd Rotgers

Additional resources that may prove to be helpful to attendees:

Is Ekklesia Still Happening This August?

We have not yet decided to cancel or significantly alter the planned Ekklesia. The Fraternity will continue to monitor the situation and make a decision based on guidance from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other government authorities and considering the financial impact for the Fraternity and our chapters. The staff will continue to evaluate alternative options to handle necessary Fraternity business if the Ekklesia is cancelled or significantly modified.

We ask chapters and volunteers continue to hold August 6-9, 2020 for the Ekklesia.

Should I Make a Hotel Reservation?

You may do so at your discretion. Hotel reservations may be cancelled up until three (3) days prior to scheduled arrival date without penalty. Click here to make your reservation

 Should I Purchase My Airfare?

All travel-related purchases are at one’s own discretion. Given the uncertainty of future developments, it may be wise to delay buying airline tickets.

The Fraternity will not reimburse travel for volunteers, including Appointed General Officers, Section Chiefs and Purple Legionnaires, until a decision is made to continue or cancel the event.

When Will a Final Decision Be Made?

We hope to decide by late May. However, this continues to be a rapidly evolving situation. The Fraternity will continue to monitor developments and provide updated information as soon as it is available. Any major announcements will be published here and via email.
