Ekklesia
Phi Gamma Delta's biennial convention, the Ekklesia, is held in the summer of even-numbered years. In this governing body, each undergraduate chapter has up to three voting delegates. Each graduate chapter may have one voting delegate. The primary business of the Ekklesia is to elect new Archons (board of directors), approve the budget for the ensuing biennium, and amend the Bylaws and Constitution.
Outside of the business conducted by the Ekklesia, there are educational programs and numerous social activities to allow brothers to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.
Modern Ekklesiai typically draw more than 700 Phi Gams. The location moves around North America, as seen in this historic list. A significant criterion in selecting a location is the presence of graduate brothers to assist with the coordination of events.
Phi Gamma Delta's 176th Ekklesia will be held August 8-11, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois.
