ALCOHOL-FREE HOUSING (AFH)

Phi Gamma Delta chapter house facilities and chapter properties not possessing an exemption shall be alcohol-free. No alcohol shall be present, possessed, brought onto, or consumed in or on any portion or room of any chapter house facility or chapter property. Chapters meeting the requirements of fraternity bylaw 19.500 may acquire an exemption from this alcohol-free housing policy for a two-year period, pending yearly review.             -The Phi Gamma Delta Risk Management Policy

ALCOHOL-FREE HOUSING EXEMPTION

Approximately 30% of Phi Gamma Delta’s chapters are granted an exemption from the alcohol-free housing requirement. Chapters applying for the exemption must meet standards for educational programming, academic achievement, risk reduction, and chapter operations.  A committee of two graduate brothers and three undergraduate brothers conducts the exemption granting process.

 ELECTRONIC FILING INFORMATION & DEADLINE

Given the availability of electronic media, and waste produced by paper applications, the Fraternity asks that all chapters submit their applications electronically in 2009. Documents in the application packet are provided in a Microsoft Word format and may be filled in electronically, saved and submitted. Additional documentation and pages requiring signatures should be scanned as either PDF files or picture files (.jpeg, .gif, etc.). The Exemption Application has been updated for 2010 and is available below.

All applications must be uploaded by 11:59pm EST on March 1, 2010. The Exemption Review Committee may not accept late or incomplete applications. You may submit your application ANYTIME prior to March 1, 2010.

Please do not wait until the last minute to post. The server will be very busy and you risk the chance your application is not uploaded by the deadline. 

To submit your application, follow the below steps:

1. Go to http://www.phigam.org/netcommunity/AFH. (Internet Explorer is recommended)
2. Click the “Add” link in the upper-right corner
3. You will be asked to log in to the website before you may upload files. (If you have not already registered for the website, click the register link in the upper-right corner of the page. Once you enter your information, it may take up to one business day to validate your information. Instructions are available at here.
4. Files must be uploaded one at a time. Enter file names with your school and document number (ex: Jefferson College 1), browse your PC for the appropriate file and click upload.
